She was the only daughter of William R. and Catherine Bell Weaver, both natives of New Jersey. Read More	Dayton Review Thursday, August 13, 1931 Obituary Jennie Augusta Weaver was born at Sioux Rapids, Buena Vista County, Iowa, October 9, 1859, and passed this life on Saturday, August 1, 1931, at the age of 71 years, 9 months, 22 days. She was the only daughter of William R. and Catherine Bell Weaver, both natives of New Jersey. Her parents, her elder brother Frank, and her uncle, Abner Bell, came to Buena Vista County in 1856, and were the first settlers of that county, and she and her twin brother, George, were also the first white children born in that county. In her youth, she came to this county with her parents, who lived some five years near Fort Dodge, then settled on the old homestead northeast of Dayton where she grew to womanhood. She taught in the schools of this county a number of years. On January 3, 1894, she was united in marriage to Alger E. Lewis. They made their home on his homestead in North Dakota. In 1905 they came back to Dayton, and lived on the old Weaver homestead until March, 1913, when they moved to Caldwell, Idaho. On June 8th of that year just as they were settled in their new home, the tragedy of an accidental gun discharge took her husband away, and her remaining years were spent in mourning the loved one gone. For some time she has been in failing health, gradually but patiently coming to the end of life. She has received every care could be given her, and is now in the happy meeting with her loved one, who was in truth her loved one until she passed the border to rejoin him in glory land. As long as strength permitted, she was faithful to the M. E. Church and Sunday School, in attendance and in service. She leaves her elder brother, Frank Weaver, of Newkirk, Oklahoma, and her twin brother, George Weaver of this community, both of whom sincerely mourn her passing, and a foster daughter, Mrs. Pearl Coats of What Cheer, Iowa, to whom she had given a mother's love and care. Her funeral was held last Friday afternoon from the M. E. Church in Dayton, a former pastor, Rev. J. H. Walker of Early, Iowa, in charge, and her remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in Dayton cemetery. Her earthly trials are ended, and she is now in peace in her Heavenly Home.
