Description	:	Jennie Laora Myers was born near Marengo, Iowa on July 6, 1877. she grew to womanhood in Iowa Co. and on June 26, 1895 was united in marriage to George L. Slaymaker at Marengo. To this union was born five children. Her husband passed away on June 2 1904. On January 3, 1909 she was united in marriage to Iva H. Myers. In 1917 they brought their family to Box Butte County where she made her home until the time of her death. To this union was born five children. Her husband passed away on June 2 1904. On January 3, 1909 she was united in marriage to Iva H. Myers. In 1917 they brought their family to Box Butte County where she made her home until the time of her death. She passed away at her home at 765 East 10th St., Alliance, Nebr., Sunday, Sept. 6th, 1953 at the age of 76 years and 2 months. Survivors include her husband; three daughters: Mrs. Grace Warn, Nickerson, Kans.; Mrs. Edith Marshall, Lovell, Wyo.; Mrs. Armenta Athey, Hemingford, Neb.; two sons, Scott Slaymaker, Hemingford and Clarence Slaymaker of Alliance,Nebr.; thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; two brothers, J.K. Myers, Cedar Rapids, Iowa and O.E. Myers, Belle Plaine, Ia.; besides other relatives and a host of friends. One brother, C.C. Myers passed away several years ago. Mrs. Myers was a member of the Christian Church of Alliance and had been a member of the Rebekah Lodge for over fifty years. Funeral services were held in the Christian Church at Alliance on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Earl Seitz officiating. The Walker Funeral Home had charge of arrangements and burial was in the Alliance Cemetery.
