Description	:	The death of Mrs. Jennie L. Waterbury at her home in this city, April 20, after an extended illness of cancer was briefly chronicled in these columns last week. Jennie Louise Hartung was born in New Canaan, Conn., Sept. 5, 1862, and died in Akron, April 20, 1926, at the age of 63 years, 7 months, and 15 days. Read More	The death of Mrs. Jennie L. Waterbury at her home in this city, April 20, after an extended illness of cancer was briefly chronicled in these columns last week. Jennie Louise Hartung was born in New Canaan, Conn., Sept. 5, 1862, and died in Akron, April 20, 1926, at the age of 63 years, 7 months, and 15 days. She was born the day after her father left with his regiment in the Union army and never saw him, as he died from fever contracted the next April while fording a river in the rain and sleet storm, just before the battle of Chanceorsville. She spent her early childhood in Connecticut, coming to Union County, Dakota Territory, in 1875, making her home with Henry Waterbury, Sr., and with that family passing through all the hardships of the early pioneer in this section of the country. In 1880 she was united in marriage with Henry L. Waterbury. To this union three children were born: Harry, who preceded his mother in death Dec. 23, 1925; Mrs. Lottie Baker of Akron, and Frank of Westfield, Iowa. In 1892 the family moved to Akron, the husband and father passing away in 1902. Besides the children there remain to mourn her death one brother, seven grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. At the funeral services, held in the Baptist Church last Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A. L. MacMillian, the pastor, a large concourse of friends, assembled to pay a last tribute of respect, and followed the remains to a resting place beside husband and son at Riverside Cemetery.
