A native of Del Rio, Tenn., he was a son of Etta Russell Cabaniss of Union and the late Willie Russell. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Union, where he was elected a life deacon. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in Iceland, England and France. He attended Clemson University and graduated from Birmingham Technological Institute. Read More	UNION - Jennings Glenn Russell, 79, of 217 Catawba St. died June 29, 1998, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Del Rio, Tenn., he was a son of Etta Russell Cabaniss of Union and the late Willie Russell. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Union, where he was elected a life deacon. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in Iceland, England and France. He attended Clemson University and graduated from Birmingham Technological Institute. He was owner of Russell's Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Service. After retiring from business, he became a vocational instructor for the school system in Union County. Survivors also include his wife, Melba Vinesett Russell; a daughter, Donna Cooper of Johnson City, Tenn.; a son, Joel "Ricky" Russell of Houston; a brother, Thomas Cabaniss of Atlanta; a sister, Joretta C. Johnson of Denton, N.C.; two stepsisters, Cecil Beard of Union and Ruth Foster of Charleston; two grandsons and a great-grandson. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church Chapel. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Suite 311, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Columbia, 29204.
