Description	:	Jerry Lee Shafto, 75, Pleasanton, died august 27, 2017 at his home in Pleasanton, NE. Funeral services will be 10:30 a., Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Pleasanton United Methodist Church with Rev. Seung Ho Park officiating. Burial will be at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Jerry was born January 20, 1942 in Kearney to Reese and Thelma Fread Shafto. He attended grade school at District #116 Brown and District #73 Sartoria then Pleasanton High School where he was graduated in 1961. He worked in Pleasanton at the Farmer's Union COOP for 43 years, retiring in 2003. Jerry was a member of the Pleasanton United Methodist Church. He loved watching Wheel of Fortune, playing cards and fishing. Jerry is survived by his nephews, Reese Shafto and wife Cheryl of Pleasanton, Marlo Kaps and his wife Jennifer of Bertrand; nieces Lori Anderson and husband Jeff of Hastings, Denise Kaps of Kearney; sister-in-law Maria Shafto of Kearney; brother-in-law Stan Kaps and his wife Marcia of Aurora, NE. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, twin Larry and Delmer Shafto, and sister Donna Kaps. Memorials are suggested to the Pleasanton United Methodist Church, Pleasant Valley Cemetery, or Pleasanton Volunteer Fire Department.
