Description	:	Jesse was the son of married Jesse Hoffman and Jane McIlvaine. He married Charlotte Jackson on 18 Aug. 1831 in Cumberland Co., NJ. He died from consumption in 1855 or 1856, aged 47 years. Note: The transcription of his gravestone inscription gives his death year as 1856. However, his death is recorded in the State's records in Franklin Township's annual return for the period May 1855 to May 1856, and his death date is given therein as Oct. 1855.
