HUBERT DAGGETT DIED THIS MORNING Many friends and acquaintances were shocked this morning to learn of the death of Hubert DAGGETT, eldest son of Frank DAGGETT of West Burlington street. The young man was taken ill Friday evening with a severe cold which developed into pneumonia. He grew steadily worse and death resulted this morning at three o'clock. Jessie Hubert DAGGETT was born in Fairfield Oct. 16, 1893 (sic. other sources have used 1892 for the birth year), and spent his life here where he had many warm friends. In April 1902 he with a younger brother and sister was bereft of a mothers care (sic. Helen Mae BALDERSON DAGGETT, also buried in this plot in an unmarked grave). Hubert was a member of the young men's basket ball team known as the Company M Juniors, playing right forward on the team and his death is felt as a sad blow to the members of the team and his other young associates. The brother and sister are at present residing in Salt Lake City with relatives, Mr. and Mrs. H. N. BITNER and word from them is being awated (sic. awaited) before the funeral arrangements are completed. Rev. C.L. Tennant will have charge of the services and the remains will be carried to their last resting place in Evergreen cemetery by the members of the Company M Junior basket ball team of which he was a member. It is not definately known whether the brother and sister, Frank and Bessie will be here for the funeral. C. L. Tennant had charge of the services. The members of the Company M Junior basket ball team were the pall bearers and bore the remains of their companion to its last resting place in Evergreen cemetery.
