Description	:	Jesse Sheets, eldest child of Amos and Nancy Rush Sheets was born near Millerton on January 31, 1883 and passed away at the Decatur County Hospital on December 21, 1959, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 21 days. As his mother died when he was small he grew to manhood in the care of his father and stepmother Jennie Sheets. Read More	Jesse Sheets, eldest child of Amos and Nancy Rush Sheets was born near Millerton on January 31, 1883 and passed away at the Decatur County Hospital on December 21, 1959, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 21 days. As his mother died when he was small he grew to manhood in the care of his father and stepmother Jennie Sheets. On May 15, 1903 [in Decatur County, Iowa] he was united in marriage with Ina Havner and they always lived on a farm until moving to Humeston two years ago. Preceding him in death were his father, mother, stepmother, two sisters and two brothers. Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Helen Brown, son-in-law, O.W. Brown, three grandchildren: Philip Brown, Beverley Dawes and Alan Brown, also a great granddaughter, Beth Ann Dawes, a granddaughter-in-law, Ann Brown and grandson-in-law, B. A. Dawes, all of Leavenworth, Kansas. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Odessa Stripe of Humeston and Mrs. Fay Dorsey of Corydon; and give brothers, Lester of Allerton, Guy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mardis of Corydon, Pearl and Kenneth of near Cambria. Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23rd at the Hutchinson Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: Herman Richard, S. M. Elder, Rex Williams, Loyd Williams, Fred Gunzenhauser and L. E. McDaniel. Honorary bearers were: Lyle Furman, Lee Roberts, Jeff Thompson, Howard Boyce, Lyle Miskimmins and Bert Rollings. Music was by Grace Gunzenhauser. Burial was in Cambria Cemetery. --clipping, unknown newspaper, 1959
