Read More	Esteemed Hull Resident Passed Away Monday Morning At The Age Of Seventy-Seven Years The community was shocked early Monday morning when news of the death of Mrs. Jelle Douma was announced. Mrs. Douma, an aged and respected resident of Hull had been ill but a short time and her passing came as a complete surprise to all who knew her. She had been extremely active at all times and at the time of her death was making her home alone, doing her housework without assistance. Obituary After a brief illness, Mrs. Douma quietly passed away at her home Monday morning, November 8, having reached the age of 77 years. Ida Buren Douma was born June 13, 1866 at Terschelling, Netherlands, and came to America at the age of I8. She first lived at Alton and while living there she was united in marriage to Jelle Douma, in the year 1890. Mrs. Douma was a member of the First Reformed Church of Hull, from which church she will be buried this afternoon, (Thursday, November 11th) with Rev. J. H. Kregel and Rev. R. A. Jager officiating. Interment will be in Hope cemetery. Mrs. Douma was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away in the year 1924, and one son, Neal, who died at the age of 36. Also four children and one grandchild, who died in infancy. The surviving, children, who mourn her departure are: John of Hull; Jake of Le Mars. Hattie (Mrs. Otto De Jong) of Carnes. Rosena (Mrs. L. T. Brunsting) of Hull. Gossen of Hull. Sara (Mrs. C. Heyman) of Hull. Tracy (Mrs. Blonk) of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Oscar who is serving in the Armed forces. She also leaves twenty-three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The sincere sympathy of the many friends and The Index is extended to the bereaved family in their hour of sadness.
