Jimmy Duane Osburn was born in Valentine July 12, 1940 to Ervy and Gladys (Breuklander) Osburn. Jimmy Duane Osburn was born in Valentine July 12, 1940 to Ervy and Gladys (Breuklander) Osburn. He attended Prairie Belle #3 School near Crookston and Valentine Rural High School, where he graduated in 1958. He served in the Army 82nd Airborne from November 1960 to November 1962. On Sept. 15, 1963, he married Mary Belle Johnson. To this union was born three children, Lynn Graeff of Valentine, Cindy Osburn of Fort Collins, CO, and Jay Dee Osburn of Valentine. This family was later joined by Lynn's husband Randy Graeff, and their children, Kailyn and Jason. Jim worked very hard for the United Parcel Service for 25 years. He played equally as hard always doing the things he loved most and enjoying time with Belle and his family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, wood-working, leather working, archery and just piddlin' around. He also loved spending time with his many friends. He was a member of the American Legion, North American Hunting Club, Mountain Man Assocation and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Jim is survived by his wife, Belle; their children; grandchildren; father Ervy Osburn and wife Mildred of Eldorado Springs, MO; sister Darlene and husband Bill Burge of Valentine; brother Merlin and wife Phyllis Osburn of Center, TX; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys; brother Bill and niece Leanne Burge. Funeral service for Jim Osburn was held Aug. 20, 1996 at the Presbyterian Church in Valentine. Pastors Carolyn and Steve Breazier officiated the 11 a.m. service and the interment that followed at Mount Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers included Doug Wackler, Ron Ward, Dan Colburn, Ron Wantz, Johnny Shelbourn, Mike Shelton, Rusty Markus and Carol Long. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Hanson, Todd Jordan, Lloyd Smith, Junior Shelbourn, Lloyd Paxton, Gary Galloway, Greg Schubauer and Jerry Beman.
