(Source: Iowa Marriages Index) ================================================== Joe Ann (sic) Crawford was born September 22, 1852, in Putman county (sic), Indiana, and died at her home in Nelson, Nebraska, Saturday, July 14, 1934. She spent her early girlhood days in Indiana, later moving to Iowa, where she was united in marriage to Thomas Oliver Parrish November 16, 1871, at Clinton, Iowa. To this union four children were born: Lenny Leeta, Lilly Mae, Charles Lewis, all deceased, and Jesse Ann of Canon City, Colorado. Her husband died in December, 1916. In 1881, Mrs. Parrish came to Nuckolls county (sic), with her husband, where she has snice (sic) made her home with the exception of a few years spent in Missouri, and a few months spent in Montana. She leaves to mourn her departure, her daughter, Jesse (Mrs. M.M. Stiner) of Canon City, Colorad; two sisters, Mae and Belle of Seattle, Washington; several nieces and nephews, one niece, Nettie Hoskins who was raised in the Crawford home; a large number of grandchildren, and great grand children, besides a host of friends. Mrs. Parrish was a faithful member of the Presbyterian church (sic) of this city. Also very active in the Missionary society never failing to be present at the meetings when her health permitted. She was a member of the Eastern Star lodge of Nelson. The funeral secvice (sic) was held at the Presbyterian church (sic) Monday morning at ten o'clock. The pastor, John Caldwell conducted the service. The music was furnished by Misses Mary Jane Wade, Jean Wade, Irene McHenry, Beth Brubaker and Ruth Spncer (sic), with Mrs. H.A. Brubaker as accompanist. The Eastern Star ladies attended in a body. Interment was in Nelson cemetery (sic), where the O.E.S. ladis (sic) conducted the ritualistic service of that Order. CARD OF THANKS. We wish to take this way of expreessing (sic) our appreciation for the many kind words and deeds, and for the beautiful floral oerings (sic) bestowed upon us during our recent bereavement.
