She was united in marriage to W.A. Lewis in Adams county, La., Jan. 22, 1880. To this union were born eight children of whom six are living, two having passed away in infancy. The six remaining are George, Milton, Alta, Mrs. McReynolds, Anna, Mrs. Wilson, Wilbur and Howard; all living here. Besides the husband and children, there are left to mourn her loss three sisters: Mrs. Josie Parrish of Nelson, Mrs. Belle Banks and Mrs. May Chapin of Seattle, Mrs. Crawford of Stapleton, sister-in-law and daughter Mrs. Dunlap. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis came to Nebraska in February 1883. Mrs. Lewis united with the Congregational church in her girlhood, and has ever remained a faithful, consistent member. Active in the work she will be sadly missed by her co-workers. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors. A faithful wife, devoted mother, and true friend has passed beyond our vision changing from this life to the better. Our comfort is that she is gone before, and that she will be waiting for those who loved her here, in the land where death never comes. We deeply sympathise with the bereaved ones today.
