Description	:	Henry Otten, 90, died January 18, 1983 in Jackson County Hospital at Maquoketa. He was born in Morganbrook, Germany, July 3, 1892, the son of Otto and Meta Schellsteadt Otten. At the age of 8 he came to Jones County from Germany with his family. He was baptized in Germany but confirmed at Castle Grove Lutheran Church. He attended rural schools in Jones County and farmed with his parents until his father's death. He then farmed with his brothers until he married. He was born in Morganbrook, Germany, July 3, 1892, the son of Otto and Meta Schellsteadt Otten. At the age of 8 he came to Jones County from Germany with his family. He was baptized in Germany but confirmed at Castle Grove Lutheran Church. He attended rural schools in Jones County and farmed with his parents until his father's death. He then farmed with his brothers until he married. He married Emma Miller, August 5. 1931 at Rock Island. He farmed all of his life in Linn, Cedar and Jones Counties. In 1908 they moved to Wyoming where Emma died in 1979. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Wyoming. He is survived by 2 step sons. Glen Miller of Greeley. Colorado and Clell (Vic) Miller of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, four step-grandchildren, nine step-great grandchildren and two step great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and one step grandson. Services were held Friday, January 21 at 1:30 PM. Zion Lutheran Church. Wyoming, with burial in Wyoming Cemetery Rev James Mattson officiated.
