Hohl, age 83 years, 3 months and 16 days, son of the late Martin and Christina Hohl, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Della Klingler in Donnellson, Iowa, Nov. 6, 1950 at 1:45 a. m. He was in poor health for a number of years and seriously ill for 3 weeks. Mr. Hohl was born on a farm near Dover July 21, 1867 and spent his entire life in Lee County. He was consecrated to God through Holy Baptism in infancy in Franklin, and in 1880 was confirmed in St. Paul Evangelical church of Donnellson, which was then located north of town. During childhood he moved with his parents to a farm near Primrose, and transferred his membership to Zion Evangelical church of Primrose. In young manhood he moved to his farm in Sharon community. On March 13, 1893 he was united in marriage to Anna Schmitt. To this union were born 4 children of whom 2 preceded him in death. On November 30, 1904 Mrs. Hohl passed away. On May 30, 1907 he was united in marriage to Emma Kluender. To this union was born one daughter. In 1924 they retired to their new home in Donnellson where Mrs. Hohl passed away March 11, 1925. The remaining years of his live were spent with his children. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and is survived by 3 children, Mrs. Clara E. Lady, Williamsport, Pa.; Edgar M. Hohl, north west of Donnellson and Mrs. Della M. Klingler of Donnellson; 8 grandchildren and a number of other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held in Zion Evangelical church at Primrose, Wednesday at 2 p. m., Rev. August E. Bergey officiatin. Mrs. Walter Schweer and Mrs. Morris Fleming sang "Abide With Me" and "It Is Well With My Soul", accompanied by Mrs Emma Breitenstien. Interment was in the Primrose cemetery with the following as pallbearers: Hallie Cecil, Theodore H. Seyb, Carl Schmitt, Hugh Bell, Paul Schweer and C. R. Brownlee.
