Description	:	Mrs Johanna Hennies, widow of August Hennies, died Friday evening at the home of her son, Henry Hennies, four miles northeast of State Center, of heart disease, with which she had been ill for two weeks. Mrs Hennies suffered a fall two years ago which injured her hip and she had not been in good health since. Mrs Hennies was born Funke, January 8, 1851, in Hanover Germany. Read More	Mrs Johanna Hennies, widow of August Hennies, died Friday evening at the home of her son, Henry Hennies, four miles northeast of State Center, of heart disease, with which she had been ill for two weeks. Mrs Hennies suffered a fall two years ago which injured her hip and she had not been in good health since. Mrs Hennies was born Funke, January 8, 1851, in Hanover Germany. In June 1865 in Hanover she was married to August Hennies, who died Jan 25, 1908. She and her husband came to this county March 15, 1881, and settled on the farm, four miles northeast of State Center where her son now resides and where and Mrs Hennies always lived. Seven children were born to Mr and Mrs Hennies, the oldest of who, August, died, sixteen years ago. Those surviving all live in and near State Center and are Henry and William on the home farm, Mr August Schaper, Albert, Mrs Ed Thake and Mrs Warren Hunzelman. A brother, Conrad Funke, also survives Mrs Hennies. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon. Prayer service was held at the home and church services were held at the French Grove Lutheran church in charge of the pastor, Rev Henry Markworth. Burial was made in the church cemetery. July 4, 1918 State Center Enterprise.
