PETER DROULLARD Johanna Louise Hanke was born on May 25, 1866, at Weisdorf, Germany, the daughter of Johanna Haberstroh Hanke and Carl August Hanke. At the age of six years she came with her parents, five brothers and one sister, to America. The family came west to St. Joseph, Mo., where they resided until 1882 when they moved to Nebraska, settling on a farm near Blue Springs. It was there that on March 12, 1889 she was married to Peter J. Droullard. They moved to Beatrice in July of the same year where she resided continuously until deceased April 11, 1942. To the union were born two sons and two daughters. She gave herself to her Lord early in life and continued steadfast in the Lutheran faith, which was a comfort to her in her last days. Hers indeed was a life of sacrifice for her family. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Peter J. Droullard, two daughters, Miss Edna of Beatrice and Mrs. Chester C. Foreman of North Platte, Nebr., two sons, Emerson C. of Grand Island, Nebr., and Fred R. of Seattle, Wash., two brothers, Fred Hanke of Beatrice and Paul Hanke of Fort Worth, Tex., eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. __________ I love the Lord; He heard my cries and pitied every groan. Long as I live, when troubles rise, I'll hasten to his throne. I love the Lord; He bowed His ear and chased my griefs away. Oh, let my heart no more despair, While I have breath to pray. Among the saints that fill Thy house, My offering shall be paid; There shall the zeal perform the vows My soul in anguish made. The Lord beheld me sore distrest, He bade my pains remove.
