Description	:	Liberty County Times, Chester, MT, 14 May 1959 John A. Chvilicek, 57, retired farmer, was found drowned Saturday afternoon in a farm reservoir about three miles southeast of Havre. He had been reported missing since about 9 a.m. Friday. Two sons and some neighbors looked for him on Friday and discovered his pickup truck in a coulee near the reservoir about noon Saturday. Deputy Sheriff Robert Scherer said he found Mr. Chvilicek's wallet and watch in the truck and his cap near the reservoir edge. The body was recovered with the aid of a boat, about 20... Mr. Chvilicek was born Dec. 22, 1901 at Alenove, Czechoslavakia. He came to America with his parents in 1908. The family lived in Texas and later Kansas before moving to Montana in 1913. He farmed with his parents until 1926 when he moved to Kevin and was employed as an oil pumper with the Ohio Oil company until 1928. He then moved back to Hingham and farmed there until his retirement in March, 1955. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council of Havre, and St. Jude's Catholic Church. On July 29, 1926, he married the former Marian Huestis at Shelby. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Alice Langel of Rudyard; seven sons, Gerald of Havre, Robert of Helena, Dr. Lawrence Chvilicek of Grants Pass, Ore., Norbert of Shelby, James and Leonard of Gildford, John, Jr. of Missoula; two sisters, Sister Mary Marietta of Havre, and Mrs. Mark Cooper of Hillsboro, Ore.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Matt Sisak, Racine, Wis., and Mrs. Mary Mendenhall, Minneapolis, Minn.; a brother, Frank of Gildford, Mont.; and eight grandchildren. Requiem mass at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Havre. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Havre.
