Mr. Chvilicek was born on May 14, 1927, in Oilmont and moved to Hingham where he graduated from high school. He joined the U.S. Navy and received an honorable discharge in 1946. In 1948, he graduated from the Sacred Heart School of Nursing. He later moved to California where he was an anesthetist. Survivors include four stepchildren, Bernard, Gary and Donna Kerkvleit, all of California, and Carol of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister, Alice Langel of Rudyard; six brothers, James and Leonard of the Hingham area, Robert of Chester, Lawrence of Pendelton, Oregon, Norbert of Palmer, Alaska, and Gerald of Woodward, Oklahoma; four step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. _____ Mr. Chvilicek died January 27 in San Bernardino. Burial was in the Hingham Cemetery with Holland & Bonine Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Father John Coady officiated and James O'Leary, accompanied by Bill Lisenby, sang, "Prayer of St. Francis," "Ave Maria," "O Lord I Am Not Worthy," and "God Be With You." Pall bearers were Jerry Hybner, Danny Whalen, Howard Dolph, Frank Huestis, James L. Chvilicek, and Bud VandeSandt. Larry Chvilicek and Bill Langel served as ushers. The family suggests memorials to a person's choice.
