He was born in Neunack Oberant Freudenstadt, Kingdom Wittenburg, Germany and came to this country in 1853 to Hamilton. He worked at Shuler and Benninghofen's Mill for fifty-six years as a weaver and he is survived by the widow, three sons and two daughters, John, Wm., Edward and Mary and Lydia Bauer also eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will take place Saturday at 3 p.m. from the house, the Rev. C. F. W. Allwardt officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends can view the remains after four o'clock Friday afternoon up until the time of the funeral."
