Death was due to advanced age. Mr. Bell was born in Jefferson county, Ohio, January 15, 1831. He was married in Ohio to Miss Sarah Ann Spencer and in November of the following year removed to Iowa, locating on a farm northwest of this city. Death was due to advanced age. Mr. Bell was born in Jefferson county, Ohio, January 15, 1831. He was married in Ohio to Miss Sarah Ann Spencer and in November of the following year removed to Iowa, locating on a farm northwest of this city. With the exception of three years which he spent in Ohio with his mother, Mr. Bell has lived continuously in this county since 1854. Mr. and Mrs. Bell left their farm and came to Fairfield to make their home five years ago. If Mr. Bell had lived but fourteen days longer thay (sic. they) would have celebrated their sixty-first anniversary of their marriage. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Bell, three of whom died in infancy. Besides his wife, Mr. Bell leaves one son and one daughter, S. P. Bell and Mrs. Mary Davidson, both of this city. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at one o'clock from the home and interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
