Description	:	OBITUARY Funeral services for John B. Hjelden, 69, of North Viking township near Maddock will be conducted Thursday at 2 PM from the Minnewaukan Free church west of Minnewaukan, with Pastor Clouse officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He died Saturday at Jamestown where he had been a patient since last October. He had been in ill health for about 5 years. He was born at Mekinock Sep 2, 1889 to Mr. and Mrs. Erick Hjelden. The family moved to Benson county where both he and they farmed many years. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith May 14th 1905 and became a member of West Minnewaukan Free church. John was single. His parents, two borthers, Elmer and Albert, and a sister Alma, preceded him in death. Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Annie Dyste of Beaverton, OR; Mrs. Chris Dyste of Minot; Mrs Gena Hanson of Sheyenne; Mrs Arthur Larson of Vancouver BC; Mrs Emma Carlson of Seattle; five brothers, Peter of Bismarck; Carl of Fond du Lac, WI; Anton of Eureka, MT; Olaf and Melvin of Minnewuakan.
