He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lavern and Kenneth and a sister, Marie Lubben. John Husmann was born Nov. 7, 1931, in Amber. He was the son of Jack and Anna Otten Husmann. He received his education in the Black Oak School near Amber. John then started working road construction and became a bulldozer operator. He helped construct the Morley Road and was the foreman of that crew. John Husmann married Harlene Tallman on Oct 10, 1954 at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. The couple lived in the Sutliff area and farmed the Smykill farm for several years. In 1963 John returned to road construction as a bulldozer operator. He returned to farming east of Morley in 1972. The couple retired from the farm in 1991. John also worked as a stock truck driver for Ardie Achenbach at the Anamosa Sale Barn. He had served on the Morley Fire Department. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Especially his cat, Shadow.
