He and Mollie had two daughters in Texas Veda Rena (1890) and Arta Charlotte (1892). Moving on to Eddy County in the New Mexico Territory, they had two more daughters Frankie Marie (1895) and Bertha Lillian (1897). It was not long until they moved further west to Alma, Catron County, New Mexico Territory. There they had Alma May (1900) and Seth (1902). In 1900 they lived a short while in Graham County, Arizona Territory, where he tried his hand at raising Angora sheep. That did not last. They soon returned to Alma before moving to Red Bluff, California about 1905. There they had three more children, Barney (1905), Dell (1908) and Joyce Valentine (1913). About 1905, he accidentally shot off his left arm, while cleaning his gun. He was an enumerator on the 1910 Census, listing his occupation as odd jobs. There must have been some good jobs, as he was able to send most of his children to college. ______________________________ Obituaries: Ford- Of 624 Glen Drive, San Leandro, January 10, 1954, John Ford, formerly of Red Bluff, Tehama Co., beloved father of Veda Berry of Rumney, New Hampshire; Arta Haakonson of Red Bluff; Frankie Waltermire of Sacramento; May Williams of San Leandro; Seth Ford of Oakland; Barney Ford of Willets and Joyce Hutchens of Red Bluff; leaves 23 grandchildren; a native of Louisiana; aged 87 years. Remains to be forwarded to Hoyt Mortuary, Red Bluff where services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 1954, at 11 a.m. Interment, Red Bluff Cemetery. (Santos & Robinson Mortuary service, San Leandro). Red Bluff Daily News John Ford lived with May Williams 18 months before death. He came to Tehama County in 1905. Surv: Mrs. F.F.
