Bearers were nephews, James and Wm. Podhajsky Sr., George Podhajsky, Frank Kucera, Joe Hadachek, and James Dostal. Interment was in St. Vaclav cemetery. The rosary was recited Tuesday evening, April 12, at the funeral home in Tama. Mr. Nachazel died at 2 a.m. Monday, April 11, 1955, at his home in Clutier following a stroke suffered Tuesday of last week, April 5, while he was working on the farm of his son, Milo, five miles west of Clutier, the Nachazel home place. Mr. Nachazel was riding a tractor and seeding oats when he was stricken. He shut off the tractor, and then collapsed. A salesman passing on the road saw Mr. Nachazel slumped over the axle, with his feet on the ground. The salesman went to the neighboring farm of Albert Chaska for help. Mr. Nachazel was then taken to his home where he was cared for by Miss Emma Ruzicka until his death. John George Nachazel, son of John and Josephine Kubik Nachazel, was born January 10, 1880, on the home place in Carroll township, Tama county, Iowa. He was reared on this farm and attended Carroll No. 5 rural school. His marriage to Mary Anna Parizek of Oneida township occurred Feb. 7, 1911, at Immaculate Conception church in Clutier. Following his marriage he farmed the 370 acre Nachazel home place until 1946 when he retired to Clutier after his son, Milo, cam home from military service and took over operation of the farm. Mr. Nachazel and his wife purchased a home in Clutier which was his home until his death. Mr. Nachazel was a social member of Catholic Workmen lodge No. 130 of St. Vaclav church, and a lifelong member of the church. Surviving with the wife are two sons and four daughters, listed in order of age, eldest to youngest: Mrs. Ben (Agnes) Hlas of Clutier, James Nachazel of west of Clutier, Mrs. Joe (Margaret) Kucera of Traer, Mrs. George (Dorothy) Hayek of Clutier, Milo Nachazel on the home place west of Clutier, and Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Zmolek of north of Toledo. Also surviving are 30 grandchildren, a brother, Joe Nachazel, and a sister, Mrs. Charles (Agnes) Podhajsky, both of Traer. He was preceded in death by a son, Earnest Walter, in infancy; and by a brother, James of Englewood, Colorado; and three sisters, Mrs. Julia Hadachek, and Mrs. Mary Podhajsky of Traer, and Mrs. Josephine Hanus of west of Clutier.
