Description	:	John George Oltman, the second son of Henry and Louise (Feess) Oltman, was born on May 8, 1918, on a farm in Nuckolls County and passed away at the Good Samaritan Village in Hastings, Nebraska, on March 2, 1990, at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 24 days. He was educated at the Cadams and Nora rural schools and was a past member of the Highland School Board. Read More	John George Oltman, the second son of Henry and Louise (Feess) Oltman, was born on May 8, 1918, on a farm in Nuckolls County and passed away at the Good Samaritan Village in Hastings, Nebraska, on March 2, 1990, at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 24 days. He was educated at the Cadams and Nora rural schools and was a past member of the Highland School Board. John was a great welder and his whole life revolved around farming from which he ultimately retired. He had a great love for his nieces and nephews. Born and raised in the Lutheran faith, he was an active member of the Salem Lutheran Church of rural Superior. At the Smyrna Lutheran Church he was baptized on June 9, 1918, and confirmed in his faith on August 4, 1932. He was united in marriage to Doris Troudt on August 1, 1944, at Belleville, Kansas. John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris, on June 4, 1966; and one brother, Robert. He is survived by three sisters, Marie Day of Superior, Kathryn Rust of Hastings, Velma Burns and her husband George of Normal, Illinois; two brothers, Dale Oltman and his wife Betty of Spearman, Texas, and Donald Oltman and his wife Ada of Amarillo, Texas; along with nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6, 1990, at 2:00 p.m. from the Salem Lutheran Church near Superior with Pastor Steve Tjarks officiating. Music was provided by Alfred and Janell Hanson singing a duet of "In The Garden" and congregational singing "How Great Thou Art." Lillian Christensen was organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Danny Jacobitz, Marlin Shaw, Don Biltoft, Bruce Jacobtiz, Delmar Shrontz and Ron Meyer. Burial was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Superior. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson, Nebraska, was in charge of the arrangements. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, March 8, 1990; pg. 11
