Description	:	Marie Margaret (Stahl) Day, the daughter of Henry and Louise (Fress) Oltman, was born on March 19, 1916 on a farm near Cadams, NE. She passed away on August 29, 2003 in Lincoln, NE at the Monarch Hospice Care Center at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 10 days. Marie attended country school near Cadams, NE. She loved to quilt and her grandchildren... Read More	Marie Margaret (Stahl) Day, the daughter of Henry and Louise (Fress) Oltman, was born on March 19, 1916 on a farm near Cadams, NE. She passed away on August 29, 2003 in Lincoln, NE at the Monarch Hospice Care Center at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 10 days. Marie attended country school near Cadams, NE. Coming from the Deshler, NE area she moved to Superior and was a housekeeper at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital for many years. She has resided in Lincoln for the last seven years. She loved to quilt and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her. She had many friendships in Superior and Lincoln and was a former member of the Superior Church of Christ and a current member of the Rosemont Alliance Church of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Edwin Stahl and Floyd Day, one son, William Buchanan, a grandson, Steven Wayne Carver, great-grandson, Jason Meader and a great-granddaughter, Leanne Gobble and two brothers, Robert Oltman and John Oltman. She is survived by her sons, Robert Buchanan and wife Judy of Tucson, AZ; Kenneth Buchanan and wife Barb of Sioux Falls, SD; a daughter, Elaine Carver and husband Gary of Lincoln, NE; two step sons, Ben Stahl of Lincoln and Robert Stahl and wife Betty of Omaha, NE; two sisters, Velma Burns and husband George of Normal, IL; and Kathryn Rust of Hastings, NE; two brothers, Dale Oltman of Spearman, TX and Don Oltman and wife Ada of Amarillo, TX, and by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, September 1, 2003 from the Roper and Son's Funeral Home Chapel in Lincoln, NE with Pastors Jim Voss & Kevin Block officiating. Music was the solo "Because He Lives" and congregational hymn was "How Great Thou Art", with Kevin Wissink as soloist and Wilma Reiner-Sundeen as pianist. Additonal services were held on Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at 2:00 pm from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, NE with Pastor Jim Stark officiating. Music was "Because He Lives" solo by Carla Stark and congregational hymn "How Great Thou Art" with Evelyn Jackson as organist. Pallbearers were her grandsons: Brad J. Buchanan, Jeff Buchanan, Randy Buchanan, Rob Buchanan, Dave Buchanan and W. Brad Buchanan. Interment was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery rural Superior, NE. Memorials may go in care of the family for Hospice Care of Nebraska. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, NE was in charge of the arrangements.
