Description	:	JOHN GEORGE WALTERS John George Walters, son of George Walters and his wife Jennie nee Reutter, was born August 5, 1877 at Bunde. Ostfriesland, Germany. On February 12 this year he entered the hospital and passed away March 4, 1969 at Beatrice at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 29 days. Read More	JOHN GEORGE WALTERS John George Walters, son of George Walters and his wife Jennie nee Reutter, was born August 5, 1877 at Bunde. Ostfriesland, Germany. On February 12 this year he entered the hospital and passed away March 4, 1969 at Beatrice at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 29 days. As an infant he was brought to the Lord by Holy Baptism in Germany being baptized by Pastor Tohlon. When he was eight years old the family came to the United States locating in Iowa, then March 26, 1885, they came to Nebraska. In 1887 he was confirmed at Ev. Lutheran Church, Sterling, Nebr. by Pastor H. Wendt. On February 6, 1902 , he was united in marriage to Flora Aden, at Sterling by Pastor Johnson. To this union one son and three daughters were born. He lived 67 years of his married life in the Adams community. About one month ago they celebrated their sixty-seventh wedding anniversary. In 1920 they moved to Adams. He was a janitor of the Lutheran Church in Adams for several Years. They joined the Adams Lutheran Church in the early 1940's. Preceding him in death were his parents, one son, Gerd, who died in infancy, one brother and two sisters. He leaves to mourn his passing; his wife, Flora of the home; three daughters, Jennie Tholen of Pickrell, Katie Mahler of Adams and Mattie Tholen of Beatrice; eight grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 7, at the Adams American Lutheran Church with the pastor, Rev. Ray Ensign officiating assisted by Rev. J.H. Rents. Mrs. Roger Groneword was organist and Mrs. Harvey Glesman sang. Pallbearers were; George Fisser, Leonard Haecker, Jerry Harms, Clifford Mahler, Arthur Dorn and Eldon Pittman. Interment was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery at Sterling.
