Married Margaret Keys on April 10, 1871 in LaSalle County, Ill. `````````````` Ulysses Dispatch (Ulysses, Nebr.), December 18, 1912, p. 4, col. 3 AN AGED RESIDENT GONE TO WELL-EARNED REST Died - At his home near Ulysses, Nebr., on Sunday evening, December 15, 1912, of heart trouble, Mr. John Gould, aged about seventy-four years, leaving his wife, two sons, Daniel and James, and a daughter Catherine, all of Ulysses, together with other relatives and many friends, to mourn his departure. Deceased had been in poor health for many years, owing to rheumatic troubles, causing intense suffering which he bore patiently and without a murmur. This, coupled with a bronchial trouble, so reduced his strength that he seldom went from home except to attend mass, as he was ever a devout Catholic, honest and conscientious. Mr. Gould was a loving husband, a kind father and true friend, whose presence wil be greatly missed. The sorrowing relatives have the unselfish sympathyt of the community in their bereavement. The funeral services were held at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Ulysses this (Wednesday) morning at 10 o'clock, the Rev. Father Lougran officiating, after which the remains were laid to rest by the side of his daughters in the Catholic cemetery near town. "Eternal Rest grant unto him, O, Lord, and Light Perpetual shine upon him." ```````````` December 25, 1912, p. 5, col. 2 The out-of-town relatives who were present at the funeral of the late John Gould were his brothers Daniel, James and Michael Gould of Bloomington, Ill., and a cousin, William Quaide of Omaha.
