Jensen, a resident of Schleswig for the past 25 years died at his home Sunday afternoon May 13, 1928 at 3:00 of Bright's Disease, he was 70 years, 7 months and 5 days old at the time of his death. Mr Jensen had been ailing for sometime and was confined to his home all winter. Jensen, a resident of Schleswig for the past 25 years died at his home Sunday afternoon May 13, 1928 at 3:00 of Bright's Disease, he was 70 years, 7 months and 5 days old at the time of his death. Mr Jensen had been ailing for sometime and was confined to his home all winter. He was able to be up part of the time until the last few weeks when his condition became more serious and he was taken to his bed from which he never arouse. John H. Jensen was born in Davenport, Iowa October 8, 1857. When he was 7 years old he came to Crawford county with his parents and they settled in Morgan Township. On March 23, 1885 he married Wilhelmina Schultz and they made their home on a farm in Morgan Township for 18 years. To this union one daughter was born to them, Mrs. Nic Naeve (Emma). In 1903 he gave up farming and moved to Schleswig. His first wife died August 30, 1918. He married Johannah Kluever January 16, 1920. He was well known in this area and was a good father, husband and friend. He leaves to mourn his wife, daughter Emma, four brothers, Jacob R. of Schleswig, William of Bloomfield, NE, Chris and Henry of Schleswig, and two sisters, Senia Peters of Battle Creek and Bertha Rusch of Schleswig. Two grandchildren, Roy and Garnet Naeve also survive his death. Funeral services were held at 1:30 at the house and then services held at 2:00 at Friedens Ev. Church. Interment was in the Morgan twop. Cemetery.
