Naeve, 78, died Friday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Angell, near Badger. Mr. Naeve had been in poor health for some time but his death was unexpected. A long-time resident of Gilmore city, he had recently moved to Humboldt. Funeral serves will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the Bogaard funeral home at Humboldt and a 2 o'clock in the Methodist church at Gilmore City. The Rev. Royal Steiner, pastor of the church, will officiate, Burial will be in Marble Valley cemetery at Gilmore City. Mr. Naeve is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Angell; and four sons, Walter Naeve, Clare, Howard Naeve, Marion, Ill., John Naeve, Jr., Barnum, and Robert Naeve, Dakota City. Twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. John Henry Naeve GILMORE CITY -- Funeral services for John Henry Naeve, 78, were held Sunday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. at Gilmore City Methodist church, preceded by a brief family prayer service at the Bogaard funeral home. The Rev. Royal Steiner officiated, and burial was in Marble Valley cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were the following nephews of Mr. Naeve: Otto Naeve, Larry Naeve, Donzell Gaffron, Curtis Jones, Herbert Jones, and Louis Naeve. Mrs. Royal Steiner sang several selections, accompanied by Mrs. Velda Anderson. In charge of flowers were Beulah Edgington, Mrs. Floyd Hutchinson and Mrs. Elmo Blain. John Henry Naeve of Humboldt died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Angell of Badger, on Sept. 30, 1955. He came to America with his parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers when he was nine years old. His four sisters and three brothers preceded him in death. The family settled on a farm near Ogden, and later moved to a farm near Gilmore City, where they lived many years. In 1901 Mr. Naeve married Alvina Junck of Ogden, Iowa. She died in April, 1913. In November, 1919, he married Lilly Love of Gilmore City. They lived in Gilmore City until April, 1955, when they moved to Humboldt. Mr. Naeve is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. John Angell of Badger, 4 sons, Howard of Marion, Ill, Walter of Clare, John Jr., of Barnum, and Robert of Dakota City. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. John Naeves feted at Gilmore City on 30th Anniversary GILMORE CITY, Nov. 9 -- Mr. and Mrs. John Naeve celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary Sunday with a family dinner at noon. Those present were Dr. and Mrs. Howard Naeve and family of Knoxville, Mr. and Mrs. John Angell and family of Fort Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. john Naeve Jr., and family of Barnum, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Naeve and family of Clare, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Naeve and Bobby of Dakota City and their sister-in-law, Mrs. Peter Naeve of Bradgate. As a surprise to Mr. and Mrs. Naeve the children planned an open house from 2 until 5 p.m. While some took them for a drive after dinner the others prepared for the open house and when they returned some friends had already arrived. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Naeve, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kuhlman and Mrs. Helen Meir, all of Woodward, attended the afternoon function. Many friends and neighbors called.
