He moved with his family to the Clare area where he graduated from high school. He and his brother Walter operated a gas station in Pocahontas in the late 1920s and early 1930s. He married Helen Marie Wiese in 1935, and the couple farmed in the Clare and Barnum areas until 1976, when they retired and moved into Manson. NOTE: In both of these texts the spelling of Wilma Angel's surname is not correct. The surname actually is Angell. JOHN HENRY NAEVE, JR. John Henry Naeve, Jr. was born on Tuesday, October 22, 1912 at Ogden, Iowa. He was the son of John Henry Naeve and Alvina (Junck) Naeve. He was brought to his lord in baptism and affirmed his faith on April 2, 1936 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manson, Iowa. John Moved from Ogden with his family to the Clare area where he graduated from the Clare High School. After his graduation he worked on various farms. In the late 1920s and early 1930s he and his brother Walter operated a gas station in Pocahontas. On February 9, 1935 he married Helen Marie Wiese at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manson, Iowa. To them were born two children, Dennis and Judith. The couple made their home on a farm near Clare and later moved to a farm near Barnum. John retired from farming in 1976 when they moved to Manson. His wife Helen has been a resident at the Good Samaritan Center, Manson since November, 1990, where John faithfully visited her everyday. He was called by the Lord of Life on Friday, January 10, 1997 while a patient at Trinity Regional Hospital, For Dodge, Iowa. He attained to the numerical age of 84 years, 2 months, and 19 days. Survivors include his wife Helen; son Dennis Naeve, Toddville; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Wilma Angel, Tucson, Arizona; and brother Walter, Otho, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Howard, and recently, his daughter Judith Marie Wagemaker.
