Kray died Tuesday afternoon at the John McDonald hospital following a severe illness of six weeks at the hospital. He had been in bad health since November,1932, suffering with a cancer of the intestines. He was born May 6, 1897, near Anamosa, and was the son of the late Henry Kray and Mrs. Meta Steenblock Kray. At the age of two years, he moved with his parents to Strawberry Point, where he attended school and lived for eleven years. He assisted his father on a farm in Castle Grove until he was married April 10, 1922, to Miss Emma Poppe. Their life together was spent on a farm three miles west of Langworthy. Mr. Kray is survived by his widow and five children, Gerhard, Albert, Marie, Edna, and Lester. Also he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Henry Kray of Monticello, and five sisters and brothers, Mrs. John Brokens, Mrs. Henry Ortgies, and Henry Kray of Cass township; Mrs. George Dirks 0f Castle Grove; and Mrs. George Schoon of Monticello. Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock at the family home near Langworthy, Friday, followed by services at the Castle Grove Lutheran church, of which Mr. Kray was a member. Services will be conducted by Rev. G. Wolf, pastor of the church. Burial will be in the Prairie Hill cemetery.
