Description	:	John Herman Knippelmier, son of Diedrich Herman Knippelmeier and Marie Wilhelmine Muhsmann, was born 4 1/2 miles southwest of Johnson on July 31, 1873. Soon after birth, he received the blessings of holy baptism. On March 26, 1893, he was confirmed in St. John (Stone) Lutheran Church by Pastor J. H. Dirks. Soon after birth, he received the blessings of holy baptism. On March 26, 1893, he was confirmed in St. John (Stone) Lutheran Church by Pastor J. H. Dirks. He was united in marriage with Dena Caspers in 1906. The young couple made their first home on a farm seven miles southwest of Johnson. In 1907, they moved to a farm at Minco, Oklahoma. In 1945, they returned to their native state of Nebraska. Ever since then they have lived at various place in the Johnson area. Sixteen years ago, the deceased suffered a stroke which caused him some discomforts the rest of his life. On Monday, April 14, he suffered another stroke at his home southwest of Johnson. He was taken to the Auburn hospital. On Thursday of last week, he was transferred to the Hill Rest Home, and there he passed away on Saturday morning, April 26, 1958. He attained the age of 79 years, 8 months and 25 days. There remains to mourn his death his widow; 2 children, Mrs. Frieda Speckmann of Elk Creek, and Rudolph Knippelmier of Auburn; 2 brothers, Henry Knippelmier and Herman Knipelmier of Minco, Oklahoma; one sister Mrs. Henry Michaelis of Lincoln; and a host of relatives and friends. Preceding him was a son who passed away in 1945. Funeral services were held on Monday, April 28, 1958, in Zion Lutheran Church, Johnson, Nebraska, with F. K. Kumpf, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Roy Rademacher and Mrs. Heye Rademacher were in charge of flowers. A solo "Abide With Me" was sung by Gerald Hahn and the congregation sang one number. Mrs. Ella Woerlen was organist. Pallbearers were John Caspers, Herman Blinde, Walter Knippelmier, Harry Holthus, Ivan Reutler and Norman Michaelis. Source: Nemaha County Herald, May 16, 1958
