The remains will be deposited in the vault at Forest cemetery. Mr. McKinley came to Oskaloosa in 1850 and opened a dry goods store here with Ed Hardy in that year. The store was one of the first of the infant town, and was located upon the present site of the court house. In later years Mr. McKinley was identified with A. M. Abraham in the dry goods business. For the past fifteen years he had been retired from active life. He leaves two sons, C. R. McKinley and J. W. McKinley, and with the latter made his home during the last years of his life. From Oskaloosa Daily Herald June 4, 1906 issue McKINLEY - With simple services, at the home of his son, J. W. McKinley, corner Fourth avenue and Second street, John McKinley, one of the last of Oskaloosa's early pioneer merchants, was laid to rest yesterday. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Alexander Corkey, and the remains were taken to Forest cemetery, where they were deposited in the receiving vault. John McKinley was one the very earliest of Oskaloosa's pioneer merchants. He came to this city in 1850, and opened up a store where the court house now stands. From a small beginning in the infant town, his business grew and prospered and Mr. McKinley engaged in that and various other business ventures until he became associated with A. M. Abraham, with whom he was connected for years in business. He retired about fifteen years ago from the mercantile field and has since spent the last years of his life with his sons here. In a business way, and personally, Mr. McKinley was highly regarded by all those who knew him. The pall bearers were chosen from among old friends. They were Dr. N. R. Hook, Robert A. Kent, L. L.
