Thus on Monday evening John Fraser, who would have been 77 years of age on May 25th, died in the Claresholm Municipal Hospital, following an illness of several years climaxed by a turn for the worse a week or so before his death. Mr Fraser was born in Hawkesbury, Ontario, May 25th, 1865. He left Ontario and went to the oilfields of Pennsylvania and in 1892 married Miss Ada Goodrich of Bolivar, NY, who survives. In 1910 the family came to Claresholm where Mr Fraser engaged in farming and also conducted for many years a dray and transfer business in the days when horses were the motive power, taking great pride in his teams. Three children also survive, two daughters and one son: Mrs D.H. Ramage at Claresholm Mrs Roy Mann at Elk Point Arnold Fraser of Vulcan, Alberta Also surviving are one brother and two sisters: S.L. Fraser of Claresholm Mrs C. S. Noble of Nobleford Mrs Angus McCrae of Richmond, Quebec. There are five grandchildren: Mrs Percy Bishop of Calgary Mrs Wm. Payne of Victoria, BC John Mulligan of Elk Point, Alberta Hunter and Matt Ramage at Claresholm and three great grandchildren: Barbara Bishop Jimmy Bishop Loretta Payne.
