Their love for each other was so great, that meeting this weekend was only appropriate. John "JW" Jones was born in the Lake Chelan Hospital on September 24, 1968, to parents, Kenneth Ray Jones and Nancy Ellen Evans. He attended elementary school at Manson Elementary and graduated from Chelan High School in 1987. After graduation, he went to work for the Lake Chelan Auto Wrecking Company. He then traveled to Yakima to work in the RV Trailer Manufacturing business. He was also employed at the Olympic Foundry in Seattle, before he returned to his favorite old job back in Chelan at the Lake Chelan Auto Wrecking Company. After exploring different jobs, he realized that automobiles were going to be his life. He attended and graduated from the School for Automotive Machinists. He was then fortunate to meet Christine Louise Case in 1991, and was married to her on March 21, 1992. John "JW" was a very loving father, husband, brother, son and friend. Anyone who knew him, loved him. He always had a smile on his face and lived lightheartedly. He was always willing to help anyone who needed him. JW was a real "motorhead." Anything that related to cars, he loved. He raced for Wild Nights Racing, which had the motto, "No Bad Days!", which was the motto of his life. He had raced for a while at the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval, which led to him winning the Sportsman of the Year Award at the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval. He also won the Championship Trophy for the First Annual Manson Mud Bog. He had great ideas. One of them being the Annual Thunder in the Sun Motorcycle Rally, Mud Bog Competition featuring Demolition Derby and live music. This year, the featured artist is Bad Company, which is his gift to the community for bringing them here. Without him, it would not have happened. He spent his days doing what he loved, which included working in the shop on cars and playing with his kids. He would get on the same level with the kids to make them comfortable and happy. All children loved him. He was that kind of person. He made sure that he could attend his children's sports events and was getting ready to supervise a paintball war on a paintball field with his sons and their friends. He worked with his oldest son on 350 engines. He left no shortage of unfinished projects and 350 engines for his sons to complete. He was very inquisitive. He always wanted to know how things worked. He would tear things apart, then challenge himself by having to put it back together. Sometimes he would succeed, sometimes he would not. What he would do is learn from his experiences. John "JW" was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Ray Jones; and his loving mother, Nancy Ellen Evans; his grandparents, William Wapato Evans and Lucille Evans. He is survived by his two brothers, Kenneth Ray Evans (Tracy I. Byron) and Jamie Lee Jones (Emilyrose Webb). He leaves behind his wife, Christine Louise Jones; and his three sons, John Wayne Jones, Jr., William Wapato Jones and Daniel Earl Jones. There are many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly, Kellan Wapato Jones, Guess Lynn Wapato Jones, Donnie Dale Webb, Victoria Lynn Webb, Madeline Ruth Webb, Bambi Allie, Clint DeFries, Kandice McGee and Cody Caracciolo; his uncle, Tom Heyen and cousin, Heyen are also amongst his relatives he loved. He will be missed greatly by many, especially his family and friends. Dad/JW, we love you! A Tribute Service will take place Sunday, May 18, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Valley Christian Center, with Pastor Dave Holt officiating. Interment will follow at Mill Bay Cemetery, Manson. Memorials may be made to Valley Christian Center, Habitat for Humanity Store, the Chelan Food Bank, Manson Fire Department or the Chelan Fire Department. Services have been entrusted to Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
