An attempt was made by this contributor to find it in the microfilm archives of the newspapers on file, but this specific one wasn't located. It is, however, transcribed verbatim. Since it refers to the funeral services in the past tense, it would appear that it was published in the week following his death and funeral: "FUNERAL OF J.W. BROWN HELD SUNDAY AFTERNOON The funeral services for the late J. W. BROWN were conducted from the home on North Court street, Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock by his pastor, R.H. Polly and interment was made in the Evergreen cemetery, the K. of P. lodge (sic. Knights of Pythias) having charge of the burial service. John William BROWN, son of Margaret and Zell W. BROWN was born in Fairfield, Iowa, February 20, 1886, and passed away at his home in this city, Friday afternoon, March 14, 1919, at two o'clock, at the age of 33 years and 22 days. He grew to young manhood in this city and received his education in the public school here. For the past fifteen years he has been employed as clerk in the Post Office in this city. He was united in marriage with Miss Alice Betts CUMMINGS, August 12, 1905 and to this union was born one daughter, Alice Lucille, who with the mother, is left to mourn the loss of a kind, loving husband and father. He is also survived by his father and mother, two sisters, Mrs. Maude BROWN SMITH, and Miss Esther BROWN and two brothers, Ralph and Zell. Jr. Also a number of relatives and a host of friends, who will keenly feel the loss of his friendship. At the age of 19 years, he and his wife united with the Christian Church in this city, and remained faithful to its teachings, always ready to do his part when called upon. He was also a member of the K. of P. lodge and the Yoeman lodge. He was a young man of sterling qualities and will greatly missed in this community where he always made his home."
