Description	:	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor "Cara": The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 3 Sept 1980 John McKeever Died Aug. 31st John William McKeever, a long time Loma area farmer, passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, at Chouteau County District Hospital, after having suffered a stroke two weeks prior. Mr. McKeever was born in Dennis, Kansas, on July 6, 1900. Read More	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor "Cara": The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 3 Sept 1980 John McKeever Died Aug. 31st John William McKeever, a long time Loma area farmer, passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, at Chouteau County District Hospital, after having suffered a stroke two weeks prior. Mr. McKeever was born in Dennis, Kansas, on July 6, 1900. His family moved from Kansas to Albany, Oregon, in 1904, and ten years later they homesteaded in what was known as the Oregon settlement, northeast of Loma. He married Laura Briese in Fort Benton, April 12, 1927, and he was still actively farming north of Loma at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Laura; three sons, Lyle and Ed McKeever of Loma, and Earl McKeever of Fort Benton; three daughters, Ruby Lohse of Carter, Carol Works of Big Sandy, and Anita Knaub of Laurel; 14 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; a brother, Ray "Scotty" McKeever, and a sister, Bertha Brock, both of Fort Benton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. McKeever, and two sisters, Lulu Miller and Myrle Holm. Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 3, in Fort Benton at the United Methodist Church at 2 p.m., with burial in Riverside cemetery.
