He was born on September 5, 1934 in Davisville, FL. to the late Homer J. and Nellie Dove Davis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cantonment and a retired Payroll Supervisor for St. Regis/Champion Paper Company with over 39 years of service. Read More	Johnnie Wilson Davis, 83 of Grand Bay, AL. formally of Cantonment, FL. passed away on October 9, 2017 at his residence. He was born on September 5, 1934 in Davisville, FL. to the late Homer J. and Nellie Dove Davis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cantonment and a retired Payroll Supervisor for St. Regis/Champion Paper Company with over 39 years of service. He was a willing worker that took pride in his work and made sure the job got done. He was a member of the Cantonment Volunteer Fire Department, served in many capacities with Harvesters and Central Credit Unions in the Tri-County Area and was an avid fisherman. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, three sisters and his mother in law Daisy Bray, who he dearly missed. He is survived by his by his wife Gladys Smith Davis of Grand Bay, AL. Four daughters Denise (Ed) Tisdale of Pace, FL; Donna (Andy) Helms Thomason of Pensacola, FL; Jeanie (Charlie) Tolbert of Grand Bay, AL; Janet (Monte) Necaise of Harlston, MS. and a adopted daughter Debbie (Harry) Turner of Theodore, AL. Two brothers Bobbie Davis of Stockton, AL. and Jimmie (Sharon) Davis of Davisville, FL. His sister Eleanor (Tete) Stabler of Greenville, AL, nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 12 Noon from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harry Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Barren Baptist Church Cemetery in Davisville, FL. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons Kyle Jernigan, Billy Helms, Mike Bradley, Jonathan Tisdale, Eric Raley, Daniel Necaise and Casey Necaise. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017 from the 10:30AM until until service time at 12 Noon from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Grand Bay Library, P.O. Box 274, Grand Bay, AL. 36541 Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
