Description	:	Josef Kadrmas was born September 8, 1856 in Dobrikov #11, East Bohemia, as the first child of Jan Kadrmas and Katerzina Svatosova. He had two siblings: Marie and Frantisek. The family later moved to Chrudimn. When he was 23 years old, Josef married Frantiska Solil, daughter of JOhn Solil and Anna Kopky. Josef served in the military and then immigrated to Tama County in September 1884, with his wife, two children, his mother-in-law (then widowed), and his sister-in-law, Maria Solil. The family later moved to Chrudimn. When he was 23 years old, Josef married Frantiska Solil, daughter of JOhn Solil and Anna Kopky. Josef served in the military and then immigrated to Tama County in September 1884, with his wife, two children, his mother-in-law (then widowed), and his sister-in-law, Maria Solil. The family settled on a farm in Perry Township of Tama County. Josef became a US citizen in 1889. Josef and Frantiska were founding members of St Vaclav Catholic Church in Carroll Township west of Clutier. Josef served as a Trustee for the Society of St Vaclav and served as the first trustees for the St Vaclav Cemetery. the St Vaclav parish was established in 1899. The couple raised 6 children. Frantiska became ill with tuberculosis and died on May 11, 1909, leaving Josef to raise the children and farm the land. His son, Joseph helped farm the land. Josef moved to Traer, in 1929,when Joseph married Elsie Psota, leaving the newlyweds to live on the family farm and raise their family. Josef experienced a decline in health in the Fall of 1938 and moved to the home of his youngest daughter, Christina for the Winter. Josef died on March 20, 1939 and after a funeral Mass, was laid to rest in the St Vaclav Cemetery he served years before.
