E ALDRIDGE DIES AT HIS HOME HERE PIONEER RESIDENT Joseph Emerson Aldridge, pioneer resident of this vicinity, died Sunday at 8:30 p.m. at his farm home at the northwest edge of Villisca after an illness of several months. On June 12, 1890, he was married to Mary Ray in Red Oak, Iowa and to them were born four children, of whom one son died in infancy. E ALDRIDGE DIES AT HIS HOME HERE PIONEER RESIDENT Joseph Emerson Aldridge, pioneer resident of this vicinity, died Sunday at 8:30 p.m. at his farm home at the northwest edge of Villisca after an illness of several months. On June 12, 1890, he was married to Mary Ray in Red Oak, Iowa and to them were born four children, of whom one son died in infancy. Those who with the wife and mother survive are Mrs. Lida McCoy, Glenwood; Mrs. Margey King, Morton Mills, and Mrs. Adla Moates, Villisca. There are also five grandchildren. Mr. Aldridge spent most of his life in this community, with the exception of a few years during which he resided in Kansa. He came to Villisca in 1908. He was a member of the Methodist Church. His body was brought Sunday evening to the Wolfe & Gourley funeral home where it remained until the funeral which was held in the Methodist Church Tuesday at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. W. F. Clayburg. The singing was by H. H. Nordyke, R. F. Runyan, Albert F. Davie, and H. C. Lindell with Miss Helen Shepherd as accompanist and the pall bearers were A. J. Wertman, Omer Day, H. A. Glackemeyer, A. W. McCoy, Bert King, and Milo Carothers. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. Villisca Review, Friday, December 21, 1934, page 1
