Lema,... Read More	Joseph E. Martin died May 28, 1987, in Eureka at age 62. He was a native of Ferndale and a resident of Fortuna. Joe was raised in Ferndale where he attended local schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and David Johnson, Lynda and Don Rush, and Lillian and Brad Whittington, all of Bakersfield; his brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Marguerite Martin of Fortuna; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Tony and Marguerite Martin of Fortuna; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Emily E. Lema, Gertrude and Van Smith, and Evelyn and Ed Giacomini, all of Ferndale; his grandchildren, Amanda, Amy and Bethany Rush, and Katie and Christina Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Martin, and recently by his mother, Maria Martin in 1985. Friends are invited to attend the Recitation of the Rosary at the Chapel of the Ferns-Citizen's Mortuary in Ferndale on Sunday, May 31, 1987, at 8 P.M. Friends may assemble at the mortuary on Monday, June 1, at 9:30 A.M. thence to Assumption Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. with Father Denis Doyle, celebrant. Interment is at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Ferndale. Casketbearers are his nephews: Larry Lema, Fred Martin, Cliff Zwick, Jerry Lema, Mike Giacomini, Gary Giacomini, Richard Michael and Ray Toste. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Ferns-Citizen's Mortuary, Ferndale, where friends may visit Sunday from 12 noon to 9 P.M.
