Read More	HARDACRE, Joseph H 11 Mar 1842 -- 03 Mar 1903 ~ Co H 8th IN Vol Inf ~ ----------------- The remains of Joseph H. Hardacre was brought to Ireton Friday from Wakonda, S. D., where he died Tuesday. He had been in his usual health up to that time. About two weeks ago he moved with his family to that place and was just getting settled when death claimed him. The funeral services were held under the auspices of the G. A. R. Mr. Hardacre was a member of the G. A. R. post at Kingsley. He was a veteran of the Civil war and member of the G.A.R. post at Kingsley Iowa, from near which place he removed shortly before his death. Joseph H. Hardacre was born in Miami Co., Ohio, March 11, 1842, and died suddenly of heart disease at his home near Wakonda, Clay County, S. D., March 3, 1903. Before coming to Iowa, he resided near Hanover, Ill., where he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Mollison. To this union eleven children were born, all of whom with the exception of Mrs. Bertha Rainboth of Charleston, Wash., and Mrs. Minnie Maust of Seattle, Wash., attended the funeral. One daughter Mrs. C. H. Worcester resides near this place. From Ohio, he moved to Indiana where he enlisted in Company H, eighth Indiana Infantry, and served a little over three years, being honorably discharged in Sept, 1864. After the war he moved to Jo Daviess Co., Ill, where he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Mollison. To this union were born eleven children all of whom together with the wife, survive him. They are Mrs. Addie Worcester of Ireton, Ia; Mrs. Bertha Rainboth, of Charleston, Wash., Mrs. Winnie Maust of Seattle, Wash., and Mae, James, Sadie, Alex, Hattie, Ethel, Harry and Luella at home. Besides his family he leaves a number of brothers and sisters who reside at various places. From Ill. the family moved to Plymouth Co. Ia. in 1884, and lived in the vicinity of LeMars and Kingsley until March 2, 1903, when they moved to Waukonda, S. D. Father: William Joseph HARDACRE b: 1809 Mother: Sarah A.
