He was born on January 31, 1862 to David Loe and Sarah Searls. He came to Indiana with his Parents when still an infant. Mr. Loe grew to manhood in Whitley county and was married to Miss Pheobe Hollycross. Surviving are the widow; four sons, John, of this city, James Ellsworth Loe of Columbia township, Earl and Murlen Loe of Columbia City; two daughters, Mrs. W.S. Finton of this city and Mrs. Lyman Mosher of Laporte. He was proceeded in death by three sons and two daughters. Mr. Loe was one of the oldest employees of the local lumber company. By occupation he was a timber cutter. He was regarded as a valued employee by the local mills and had many friends among the other workman. Mr. Loe was a member of the moose lodge here. The body was removed from the hospital where death occured, to the DeMoney Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home until the funeral hour. The funeral rites will be held in the United Brethern church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. N.C. McCoy, the pastor officiating. Interment will be made in the South Park Cemetery.
