He had been ill with pneumonia only about four days and his death was a great shock to the entire community. Funeral services were held at the Bohemian hall Thursday afternoon conducted by the Bohemian lodge of which the deceased gentleman was a prominent member. The services were very impressive though entirely in the Bohemian which the writer unfortunately could not understand. An address was delivered by a gentleman from Omaha, whose name was not learned, and a selected choir of the lodge members sang two selections. The floral offerings were abundant and beautiful. The funeral was one of the largest ever held at this place, and a long line of autos and carriages followed the remains to their last resting place in the Bohemian cemetery. The pallbearers were chosen from among the old friends and neighbors. Some who attended from a distance were J. F. Slezak and Mrs. Mae Kovarik of Omaha; Dr. and Mrs. R. H. Gregory, Mr. and Mrs. Will Krisinger, and Mrs. Mary Kralik of Creston; F.R. Grant of Orient and Mrs. Annie Vanosek, Joseph Vanosek, and Miss Christie and Miss emma Vanosek; Mr. and Mrs. L.V. Krisinger, Mr. and Mrs. John Frus of Spaulding. Mr. Krisinger was born in Red Oak, Iowa and came to this part of the state when a small boy with his parents and has ever since resided within a mile of the old home. In his early manhood he united in marriage to Lena Bela of Omaha. He was an honest, upright man, a good neighbor, and will be sadly missed in the community where he has lived almost his entire life. He is survived by his wife, one son, Alfred; a daughter, Helen, both of whom are at home; also his mother, Mrs. Josie Krisinger, of Creston; two sisters Mrs. Barbara Kolash of Carl Township, and Mrs. Mary Kralik of Creston; and four brothers, W. D. of Creston; James of Prescott; L. V. of Spaulding, and Frank of this place. The bereaved family is offered the sympathy of the community. Adams County Free Press March 3, 1917 Our community was greatly shocked Tuesday, February 20 by the announcement that Joseph Krisinger, a prominent farmer had passed away at his home near here. He had been a sufferer from pneumonia bout four days and his death came suddenly and as a great surprise and shock to his family. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bohemian Hall under the auspices of the Bohemian lodge of which he was a member. The commodious hall was filled to its utmost capacity and the services, all in the Bohemian language were solemn and impressive. A wealth of floral beauty covering and surrounding the casket were the contributions of neighbors and relatives and the orders to which he belonged. Interment was made in the Bohemian cemetery. Mr. Krisinger came to this neighborhood when a small boy and has spent his entire life here, enjoying the respect and regard of the entire community. He was an upright, honorable man and a good neighbor and his untimely death will leave a great vacancy in the community as well as in his home. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Helen, one son, Alfred, both living at home, his mother, Mrs. Josie Krisinger of Creston, two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Kolash of Good hope and Mrs. Mary Kralik of Creston, four brothers, Frank Krisinger of this place, James of Prescott, L. V. of Spaulding and W. B. of Creston. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community.
