Description	:	Joseph Meek Howell, 86, of Bridgeport, died Thursday, November 18, 1999 in the Harmony House Health Care Center at Brewster. He was born August 7, 1913, the son of Isom and Pearl (Robinson) Howell at Zelda, Kentucky. In 1934, he married Nellie Johnson at Science Hill, Kentucky. Joseph moved with his family to Tonasket, in 1942 to work at the Larabee Orchards. In 1948 he began working for Martha Gebbers on the Berry tract on the Brewster Bar, where he raised his family. He was born August 7, 1913, the son of Isom and Pearl (Robinson) Howell at Zelda, Kentucky. In 1934, he married Nellie Johnson at Science Hill, Kentucky. He is survived by his children, Pearl Shrable of Brewster, Gene Howell of Brewster; Joseph Jay Howell of Entiat; Lloyd Howell of Sweet Home, Oregon; Janie Barnett of Seattle; Doris Haugen of Chelan; Jim Howell of Twisp; two sisters, Lois Hill and Mildred Clay of Oroville; a brother, James Howell of Wenatchee, 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isom and Pearl Howell, his wife, Nellie and three grandchildren. Private family graveside services at his request. Pastor Forrest Bushing, officiating. Committal service and interment at Bridgeport Cemetery. Services under the direction of Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
