Read More	Poulin, Joseph Rene* OAKLAND -- Joseph Rene Poulin of Oakland passed away at home on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, with his family by his side, following a 15-year battle with cancer. He bravely fought this disease always thinking of his family. He was born in Waterville on Sept. 17, 1943, the son of the late Leo Joseph and Ida Martha (Rossignal) Poulin. Through the years Joseph had been employed by Howard Johnson in Waterville, Eagle Rental in Waterville, and Main Gas in Fairfield. Joseph lived for his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a perfectionist when it came to building and fixing things as well as when he was riding his tractor and plowing the yard. He also enjoyed driving his buggy and at times getting it stuck. Joseph also enjoyed his involvement with the Boy Scouts. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Clement and Henry Poulin; and his sisters, Theresa Bernier and Ann LeBreton. Joseph will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 30 years, Ruth; his sons, Joseph Poulin and his wife, Darcey, of Oakland, Lee Deere-Poulin and his wife, Kelleen, Randy Deere-Poulin, and Shawn Deere-Poulin, all of Connecticut; his daughters, Amy Crosby and her husband, Mike, of Fairfield and Jody Davies and her husband, Mike, of Connecticut; his sisters, Marie Palmer and her husband, Lloyd, of Ohio and Rita Stanton of Waterville; several grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and his godchildren, Christopher Chute and Lauren Demo, both of Oakland. Special thanks go to our family and friends for all their love and support; to the Fairfield Big Apple, Fairfield fire and police personnel for their support; the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care in Augusta, Hospice, Dr. Glover and Dr. Douglass for the wonderful care; Keith Fischer who stayed awake at night to ensure Joe was cared for while the family got some rest; and Nikki and Cathy of Governor's restaurant for their love and support. He will be missed, but not forgotten! We love you and know you will be watching over us! Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with a funeral service to begin at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St. in Fairfield.
