Description	:	J. Warren Keifer, Jr., widely known farmer and stockman of the Bostwick community, died late Wednesday in a Superior hospital at the age of 95 years. Born in Springfield, O., May 13, 1861, he had been a resident of Nuckolls county (sic) for 72 years, residing on the Keifer ranch two miles south of Bostwick. He was educated in the Springfield, O., schools and at Wittenburg College there and Antioch College in Yellow Springs, O., and the University of Ohio. Born in Springfield, O., May 13, 1861, he had been a resident of Nuckolls county (sic) for 72 years, residing on the Keifer ranch two miles south of Bostwick. He was educated in the Springfield, O., schools and at Wittenburg College there and Antioch College in Yellow Springs, O., and the University of Ohio. In 1881-1883 he was secretary to his father who was United States Congressman from Ohio and speaker of the House of Representatives; and in 1907 he was a member of the Nebraska Legislature. He served for a time as justice of the peace in Bostwick Township, also. A member of Tehama Temple of the Shrine, Keifer was the last charter member of the Masonic order (sic) in Superior. He also was a member of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States and of the Presbyterian Church in Superior. Survivors are his wife, Julia L., sons, Oswin and Joseph of Bostwick; daughters, Mrs. J.E. McLafferty of Lincoln and Mrs. J.E. Bell of Chester. Funeral services are to be at 10:30 Saturday morning at the Megrue-Denny funeral home in Superior. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, August 12, 1954
