Description	:	Josephine Bennett, 95, of Oak Hill, W.Va., died on April 25, 2022, in a Charleston area nursing home following a long illness. She was the last surviving member of her birth family. She was born on May 18, 1926, at Mud, Lincoln County, W.Va., a daughter of Edward Hager and Stella Adkins Hager Ball. Josephine met and married Russell E. Bennett Sr. Together they had one child, Russell E. Jr. Josephine was a hard worker who loved her home. She took pride in her yard and grew great tomatoes along with beautiful flowers. She was the last surviving member of her birth family. She was born on May 18, 1926, at Mud, Lincoln County, W.Va., a daughter of Edward Hager and Stella Adkins Hager Ball. Josephine met and married Russell E. Bennett Sr. Together they had one child, Russell E. Jr. Josephine was a hard worker who loved her home. She took pride in her yard and grew great tomatoes along with beautiful flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her foster parents, Leva and Nathaniel Miller. Josephine never wavered in her love for the Millers, who raised her as their own. Survivors include her son Russell Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Charleston, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Russell E. III, and Jason Bennett, both of Weirton, W.Va.; four great-grandchildren; and former daughter-in-law, Terri Bennett, of Weirton. Private services were held April 30, 2022, with interment at Memory Gardens, Low Gap Road, Madison, W.Va. Arrangements were provided by Handley Funeral Home, Danville, W.Va.
