Bodwell officiating. Mrs. Francis Gray was accompanied by Mrs. Mabel Dunn in the following vocal selections, “No Night There” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Flowers bearers were Mrs. Robert Wheeler, Mrs. Clarence Hillary, and Mrs. Howard Campholf. Casket bearers were, Robert Wheeler, Darwin DeVoss, Jack Dilley, Arvin Hedstrom, Russell Vincent, and Keith Peterson. Alfred Hedstrom, was born on January 29, 1882 on a farm northeast of Villisca in Montgomery County, Iowa, and passed away at her home at 100 West Third Street, Villisca, on December 4, 1962, at the age of 80. She grew to womanhood in the Villisca community and on March 29, 1905 she was united in marriage to Frank Andrews Leonard in a ceremony that took place in the home of her parents. The new home was established in Elliott, Iowa where mr. Leonard was engaged in business for fourteen years. While living in Elliott, Mrs. Leonard was a member of the Christian Church. Following this period they moved northeast of Villisca, where they farmed the rest of their married life. Mr. Leonard passed away in February 1940 and in 1941, Mrs. Leonard moved to Villisca. Union moving from Elliott, she transferred her membership to the Villisca Methodist Church where she remained active in the church and its organizations as long as her health would permit. Sin addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Nels, Frank, August, and Henry Hedstrom; and one sister, Mrs. Anna Taylor. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. T. K. Wheeler, Villisca; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Hanson, Norfolk, Nebraska and Mrs. Bertha DeVoss, Villas; besides nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
